This is a continuing Āyurveda class at the Intermediate level and students are expected to have basic knowledge of Āyurveda. All previous students are welcome.

There are three kinds of treatment in Āyurveda: reasoning for the physical body; the increase of sattva or higher consciousness; and treatment for the individual soul as it transmigrates towards perfection or realization of our inter-connectedness or oneness.

Topics to be considered are:

1. The five senses and their uses and influences in disease or health factors.

2. The subtle influences of our nervous system, are linked to mental and emotional imbalances. This includes comments on the subtle body by His Holiness Śrī Śāntānanda Sarasvatī .

3. The intelligent practices of taking ‘refuge in the Divine’ using Vedic resources and techniques for healing as explained in Caraka Saṃhitā, one of the foundational texts of Āyurvedic knowledge.

Classes will be held online via Zoom.
