Richard Glover will argue for our seeing taxation rather differently, as an essential and natural tool for maintaining a healthy society. Not the kind of taxation that is an arbitrary charge imposed on a nation’s citizens, that distorts economic activity and fails to raise enough public revenue. Rather the means for moderating unhelpful economic tendencies that result in poverty and deprivation, for removing harmful excesses. Can Natural Taxation be a possibility?
