Starting from Scratch
Lecture by Chris Wood, School of Philosophy, New York, March 14th 2015
As the 21st century unfolds it is clear that the major societal issues we face – climate change, energy and food security, poverty, the environment – are all interconnected and not susceptible to discrete solutions. They are unlikely to be resolved by tinkering around the edges of our current economic system. What is required is a radical re-thinking of the subject that puts people first. In this talk some thoughts were offered on what this might mean.
