A new six-week online course online starting Monday 24 February.
This course offers practical ways to help Carers, both paid and unpaid, to care for yourself as well as for others.
It offers ways to find rest, save energy, work more efficiently, and lead a happier life.
Our objectives are to give support and encouragement, and to enable you to develop a new perspective on care work.
To help with this, each week we will introduce a practical tool for you to use.
The course will be led by Dr Peter Sullivan.
Week 1 - An exercise in Awareness.
Week 2 – Acceptance – how to respond rather than react.
Week 3 – Keep the mind on the job: the importance of giving attention.
Week 4 – Dealing with pressure. How to save energy. Pausing between activities.
Week 5 – Using the right tool for the job.
Week 6 – Always think about what you can do, not what you cannot do.
