UK Times for the Tasters:

09:30 – 10:30 Taster topic: The Magic Money Tree?

A short introduction to the nature of money, what is it, who creates it, and whom should it serve. These questions will be filled out in the Introductory Economics with Justice course next term.

11:00 – 12:00 Taster topic: Freedom Under Law

The course, presented by three experienced barristers, intends to demonstrate how the Common Law and the Constitution is based on reason and embodies or attempts to embody natural principals of law and justice.

14:00 – 15:00 Taster topic: The Housing Crisis - Why?

Is it a housing shortage making them unaffordable? If not, then perhaps an inadequate planning system, second homes, schemes such as buy-to-let, or immigration? There are no easy answers, but our Introductory Economics with Justice course does begin to address them.

15:30 – 16:30 Taster topic: How can we right economic wrongs?

The Global Financial Crisis of 2008 and the recent Pandemic both unveiled what too many people are experiencing in everyday life. The prevailing economic arrangements feel unfair and their potential for prosperity and freedom is not widely shared. Our Introductory Economics with Justice course takes you on a journey to reveal some questions to ask and some answers.

New FREEDOM UNDER LAW course!

What does the Common Law signify today?

This course will examine the origins of the Common Law and its relevance today. Central will be the proposition that Law and Justice are an aspect of human nature and the foundation of civil freedom. We have a choice as a community or as individuals whether to accept the natural government of Law and Justice which are essentially self-evident in practice; that this is the foundation of a free and happy society.

The common law emerged in a nation which was in part unified by adherence to Christianity. Today that is no longer the case. It would seem that the unifying principles include:

  1. Respect for the Rule of Law;
  2. Respect for Human

We will consider the implications of this.

The course, presented by three experienced barristers, intends to demonstrate how the Common Law and the Constitution is based on reason and embodies or attempts to embody natural principals of law and justice.
