Venue: Mandeville Place & online
Migration is a global phenomenon with local consequences. The crises today have deep - potentially ancient - historical roots. Moral, political, economic, and legal dimensions conspire to prevent simple and easy solutions and encourage populist rhetoric.
This event aims to inform and educate, to encourage a spirit of justice and unity. The UK is used as the main case study and facts are presented. The migrant experience is explored; national and international obligations are considered; economic effects are examined; the approaches followed by Europe, Dubai, and Denmark are contrasted. The panel session rounds off this day packed with interest.
