Economics and Law week 2020

Free Event, Donations Welcome

This year’s International Economics and Law Conference will take place online (Zoom) from 6pm Sunday August 30th to 6pm Saturday Sept 5th 2020. Programmes for both Economics and Law will run concurrently with some sessions held in common.

Who Can Attend

Economics programme is open to anyone who has completed the Introductory term of our Economics with Justice course. Law programme is open to anyone with a keen interest in Law and Justice and currently attending a course in the School.

Economics Programme

With the new Economics with Justice course launching in September, we will be considering the principles for natural living it is based on. There will be presentations of the past year’s studies, electives on relevant topics, opportunities to study the material and time for general discussion. The principles include: truth & justice; “do as you would be done by”; not stealing; importance of work; significance of family; Mother Earth; “may all be happy”; public realm and public revenue.

Law Programme

Study and presentations will centre on the Common Law course being prepared. The course is intended to set out in simple steps the antiquity of our law, the stages through which it has passed – including overseas expansion – and bring us up to the present day with examples from case law. It will remind us of how the presumption of innocence was established.

Price and Booking

The event is free to attend, but delegates are invited to make donations through virginmoneygiving either during or immediately after the event. To register and secure your place send an email to Peter Holland at economics@fses.org. You will receive the conference Zoom link a few days before it commences.
