Ukraine - a message from Mr Lambie
The invasion of Ukraine is causing immense suffering. The response of countless individuals offering help has been wonderful. Much of this takes place on social media. Some links are given below which might help those who find social media difficult to use.
Active consideration is being given to making space available at Mandeville Place for teaching English or whatever may be necessary. This may work for other refugees in the future as well, but the immediate need is to help the Ukrainians. Consideration will also be given as to what similar uses our other buildings may be put to.
It may be useful to offer the Introductory Philosophy course in Ukrainian. If there are any students in the School reasonably fluent in Ukrainian can they contact the office at hello@fses.org
For those interested to read about the history of Ukraine, The Gates of Europe by Serhii Plokhy is a helpful book in tracing the steps that have led up to the present situation.
On 26th March at 10.00am there will be a one hour period of meditation for peace in the world, involving students from the Schools around the world as well as the Study Society and School of Meditation.
