Silent Retreat 2026
Nanpantan Hall, Leicestershire
Wednesday evening 12 August to Wednesday morning 19 August
This will be an opportunity to come to complete stillness in good company, for those seeking peace and wishing for time to study and reflect.
This is a silent event including meal times and all other times. However there will be an opportunity to discuss what we have found at an optional evening meeting. There is no obligation to attend this. Meditation will be at set times in the Withdrawing Room or a place of your choice. It would be good if we could all meet together each morning in the withdrawing room to dedicate the day with a reading.
You are invited to bring your own study or art materials and trusted to order your day in a measured way. You are free to explore the local area. It’s just a matter of writing on the blackboard that you have left the House and to confirm safe return.
There will be opportunities to help with the running of the House and this will be on a volunteer basis. There will be two periods in the day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon when no physical work is undertaken so the house can come to complete stillness.
Each student will have their own room, although married couples can stay together if they wish. Numbers will be limited to 26 (more if couples share a room).
It is expected that participants meditate and have been on a residential retreat before.
The Retreat will start on Wednesday 12 August, with access to the house from 5pm. A light buffet supper will be available from 7.30pm. Meditation at 8.45pm before we dedicate the week and become silent.
All attendees are expected to complete the full week, which will end at 10am on Wednesday 19 August.
We hope you can join us for a complete rest and ‘dive deep’ into the ocean of bliss.
Please review the Terms & Conditions for residential retreats. it is a condition of your attendance that you complete a Personal Details form, provided by the event organiser.
